Thulani Cindi

Thulani Cindi

Founder, Ignitius Investment Holdings
Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa

Background

With over 20 years of experience in business and development, Thulani Cindi — affectionately known as "TIDNIC" — has established a formidable presence in the industry. His journey began in Evaton, roughly 60km south of Johannesburg, where he gained early business acumen managing small family operations.

Education

Thulani matriculated at General Smuts High School in Vereeniging, then pursued a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at Technikon Witwatersrand (now the University of Johannesburg) before enrolling at Vaal University of Technology to study Information Technology.

Career

He began with an apprenticeship in internet banking under a joint MTN–Standard Bank initiative, later moving into aftersales consulting for Ford and Mazda. He became one of the first black technicians for Apple South Africa, before serving as a Customer Relations Analyst for Total SA (now TotalEnergies), assessing filling stations nationwide.

Entrepreneurship

In 2008, Thulani moved into full-time entrepreneurship, eventually co-running a bus manufacturing company — the foundation for what would become Ignitius Investment Holdings.
